The New Website of Councilman Matt Ahearn!

I am proud to be a third generation resident of St. Clair Shores. My grandparents on both sides moved to the Shores in the 50's. My parents went to South Lake High School were they met and graduated. My wife Eliza and I also met and graduated from South Lake.

While I was in high school I worked at Jefferson Beach Marina, from there I worked towards my Journeyman Electrician license and am now a Local 58 IBEW member working with Maryland Electric.

Currently I am involved in many different organizations. I am a Macomb Co. Sheriff Officer, the President of the St. Clair Shores Parade Council, member of the S.C.S. Activities Committee and the Assistant Varsity Softball Coach at South Lake. Before I was elected to council I was a member of the S.C.S. Water Resource board.

I learned at a very young age about the true value of a community. When I was just ten years old my father passed away after a long battle with cancer. This left my mother with three children to raise on her own. Throughout the family's struggle with his illness, and especially after his death, the people of SCS showed us what it meant to be a part of a truly caring community. I knew then, even at such a young age, that I wanted to do whatever I could to give back to this amazing city.
